UMATI is here to bring about access to needed services and valuable information to young people, the marginalized, vulnerable and underserved communities in Tanzania. We pride ourselves in creativity in service delivery and being the pioneers of providing family planning as well as sexual reproductive health services to the Tanzanian community.
UMATI is an affiliate and fully accredited member of The International Planned Parent Federation (IPPF). It is the only member association of the organization in Tanzania and among the 37 member associations in sub-Saharan Africa. It is a national NGO which is volunteer lead and owned. Volunteers implement service provision as well as policy management.
In this field we encounter hurdles such as funding for sexual and reproductive health is low even at the national level, service provision is inadequate compared to the demand, we have a good policies which enable a conducive environment but the same cannot be said about implementation, limited human resource and young people do not get obtain friendly services when they seek for it. I believe in innovation, volunteerism and youth empowerment. The future is bright, reproductive health needs to be prioritized because it is at the core of future development.
We have to understand that we are the change that we want to see in the world therefore in order to change others we have to change ourselves first.
We've gathered a wealth of knowledge on the services, incentives and specialist help available to clients across Tanzania from our expert advisers and partners, including local authorities, children and mothers support organisations.
