Improved access to young people’s Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights information, education and services


The project will focus on provision of quality integrated youth driven SRH services that respond to the unmet needs of young people in six sites within four zones and other sites will implement low profile youth activities in collaboration with other partners. The aim is to contribute to the overall improvement of SRH status of young people 10-24 years in the catchment areas. The project therefore, will establish satellite clinic at Buguruni, conduct mobile services for in and out of school to reach the young people with SRHR, IEC and services. Other strategies will include expanding SRH services to key population (sex workers), conducting interactive SRH sessions on SRH&R, LPS and Gender Based Discussions and provision of Youth Friendly SRH services as well as gender mainstreaming at all levels. The project will strengthen youth friendly services at Temeke as a model youth centre; in line with the National and IPPF Youth Friendly Services standards.

 Specific objectives -

  1. Increase access to SRH& Rights information and education among  young people from 294,110 in 2012 to 441,165 by the end of year 2013
  2. To increase utilization of youth friendly SRH services from 170,000 of 2012  to 270,000 among young people by the year 2013.

 Implementation location:

Wete (in Pemba), Morogoro and Temeke in the Eastern zone, Mwanza in the Western zone, Arusha Kikatiti, in the Northern zone. Others include Mbinga, in the Southern Highlands zone. Low profile activities will be done in the following sites (Mbeya, Songea, Iringa, Tanga, Moshi, Shinyanga, Unguja, and Dodoma)
